As a relatively new author, it’s satisfying when a TikTok book influencer reviews your book. Indeed, it’s exhilarating when your novel receives a favourable review from a book influencer who normally reviews only novels traditionally published by the major international publishing houses. I felt that exhilaration on 19 October 2026, when the #booktok book influencer, @allbookishwithchloe, reviewed my second novel, Two Minutes. It was especially satisfying that a woman posted an extremely favourable review of Two Minutes, because it is a character-driven work of fiction and, most importantly, the main character is a woman. During the approximate twenty-one months that I wrote and edited Two Minutes, my mind had to contemplate life as a woman would, feel the emotions as a woman would, and react to life’s little vicissitudes as a woman would. So, when a significant online female book influencer tells the world that she loved your main female character, that character, who still lives in the endless creative universe of your mind, takes an endless joyflight.
